Professional Experience
I have worked as a dental surgeon for over ten years in both NHS and private practices. In addition, I have completed a two-year diploma to become a member of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London, which means that I have more in-depth knowledge about complex dental matters than I did following the five-year dental degree at Newcastle University.
I achieved Distinction in the Graduate Diploma in Law in 2016, and I am part way through the Bar Professional Training Course at Leeds BPP. I commence Pupillage in Newcastle in 2018.
I have been awarded a Lord Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn, London, an Excellence Award from Leeds BPP, an award for making an outstanding contribution to Northumbria Law School, and an award for making an outstanding contribution to the Pro Bono Law work at Leeds BPP.
I am interested in all matters relating to negligence, whether that be medical, dental or otherwise, as well as communication breakdowns and personal disputes.
Mediation Style
Given my background as a dental surgeon, I am experienced at helping participants feel relaxed in a stressful situation. I am also experienced at listening and then breaking down complex medical and legal problems into more understandable language in order to help participants reach an outcome that they desire. I am patient, calm, conscientious and supportive, and I will make every effort to help participants reach a solution which all parties are happy with.
