Professional Experience

1979 – 1999 Working in various solicitors’ firms as Trainee, assistant and mainly as a partner specialising in cross border litigation.
1999 – 2012 Member of the European Parliament. A leading member of the Legal Affairs Committee intimately involved in the development of EU civil and commercial law, particularly authoring reports on and steering legislation in the field of ADR, Mediation and collective redress.
2012 – present Various part time roles in the ADR sector including work as adjudicator and mediator. Working group and board level member of various ADR bodies, CMC and IMI. Frequent requested speaker at ADR events Europe-wide.


Style

Whatever maybe my inner feelings I believe I have an ability to convey a calm and patient manner, while also through very careful preparation and focus keeping in view the way ahead. I am passionate that people should understand the ADR process and what it may or may not be able to deliver for them.
